The Scratch – Pullin’ Teeth ft. Kevin Rheault
Dublin’s The Scratch release “Pullin’ Teeth” featuring Kevin Rheault of Dropkick Murphys, the second single from their upcoming album Pull Like A Dog, out 13 March via Sony Music Ireland/Music For Nations. The Irish folk-punk four-piece wrote the track quickly while on tour in North America, building it from a riff inspired by a much older song.
The band set themselves the goal of writing a tune they could start playing on that tour, and the whole thing came together within a few hours, debuting live to a rapturous response the same day. “To be able to write a song that quickly and for it to feel that good kickstarted everything,” says Conor (guitar, backing vocals). “We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel on this album—it’s about taking the pressure off, reinterpreting ideas, and not overthinking things. It was very freeing for us.”
The video was filmed against the backdrop of Iceland by Conor Beegan while the band were in town for Iceland Airwaves. It captures the band’s spirit—having the craic with locals, causing chaos, and soaking up the Icelandic scenery.
The Scratch were recently named among The Independent’s “Top 10 Bands to Watch in 2026.” Following a performance at Other Voices in Dingle’s St. James Church, the band announced their biggest Irish headline show to date at Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens on 4 July. They’ll tour the US, UK, and Australia in April before heading to Europe for festival appearances.
This follows their third album Mind Yourself (2023), along with The Whole Buzz (2019), Couldn’t Give a Rats (2020), and Couldn’t Leave Our Gafs (Live) (2022).
